The Rogers Company Invests in CNC Machine and Programmer

December 05, 2012

Mentor, Ohio, USA –  The Rogers Company, announces improved production capabilities and efficiencies by automating some of its processes with the purchase and installation of a CNC Router in August of this year. Michael Short, a seasoned CNC programmer, was hired to help implement the system within The Rogers Company’s 150,000 square foot facility.

The Rogers Company has been producing custom trade show exhibits and displays for over 67 years, relying on its skilled craftsmen to build their custom designs. The addition of the CNC Router will assist Rogers in keeping costs down while allowing the company to expand their rental inventory and efficiently produce large volume projects such as rental displays, cabinetry, unique prototypes and dimensional letters for signage. In addition, the CNC Router will aid in the manufacture of its newly introduced GloQube™ a LED lighted modular product display.

The Rogers Company continues it’s commitment to process improvement and maintaining state-of-the-art production capabilities and incorporation of the 3-Axis CNC Router allows them to do so. The machine is also capable of producing etched surfaces and custom-made “one-off” models. CNC Programmer Michael Short states, “In my experience, there are no limits as to what can be done with the CNC. Anything you can imagine, it can do. In a creative industry like ours a tool like this can great bring ideas to life.”

Michael Short comes to The Rogers Company with 25 years of experience programming and operating CNC machines in several industries including automotive, aviation/aerospace and custom model and prototype work. He has played a vital role in bringing the machine up to capacity and has already completed a number of very high profile projects for several Fortune 500 clients of The Rogers Company.
